E.P. ‘Tom’ Sawyer State Park Opens the Community Pool, Welcoming the Public

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 3, 2024) – E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park’s pool and splash pad, set amid the park’s natural beauty, officially opened its gates May 25 and will be operational daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. throughout the summer season.

Admission fees are $10 for individuals ages 18 and older on weekdays and $12 on weekends. For ages 3 to 17, the fees are $8 on weekdays and $10 on weekends. Children ages 2 and younger can enjoy the pool for free. Additionally, season passes are available, with a single pass priced at $75, a family pass for up to four members at $150 and additional members for $25 each.

The pool’s rain day policy offers $5 nonrefundable tickets to be sold when inclement weather may close the pool, ensuring that visitors can still enjoy the pool even if the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Visitors can expect a wide range of activities and amenities, including morning swim programs featuring lap swim, fitness classes and toddler swim sessions. To inquire about swimming programs and services, contact Samuel Dunn at samuel.dunn@ky.gov.

E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park is located at 3000 Freys Hill Rd. in Louisville. The 554-acre park is open year-round and offers a range of guest amenities, including a dog park, archery range, soccer fields, basketball courts, BMX track, hiking trails, indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, picnic shelters and more.
