Two Kentucky State Park Golf Courses Closing Temporarily For Green Repairs

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Aug. 15, 2018) – Two Kentucky State Park golf courses in western Kentucky will be temporarily closed to allow for re-seeding of the greens, the Department of Parks announced today.

The 18-hole courses at Mineral Mounds State Park near Eddyville and Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park near Dawson Springs will be closed for about four weeks starting Aug. 20. The greens will be re-seeded and the courses are expected to re-open later this year.

The re-seeding is needed due to damage caused to the greens by weather conditions. Other golf courses in the region have had similar issues because of weather.

Two other state park courses in the region remain open. They are located at Lake Barkley State Resort Park at Cadiz and Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park at Calvert City.
