Treasurer Ball Announces Two New Members of the Kentucky Financial Empowerment Commission Board

FRANKFORT, Ky. (October 12, 2022) - Kentucky State Treasurer Allison Ball announced two new members of the Kentucky Financial Empowerment Commission (KFEC) Board of Directors today, her office announced. The new members are Dr. Laurel Raimondo Martin of Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass and Dr. Beth Hargis of the Kentucky Department of Education.

“I am proud to have Dr. Raimondo Martin and Dr. Hargis join the Kentucky Financial Empowerment Commission Board,” Treasurer Ball said. “Each of their organizations have been invested in my financial literacy efforts in Kentucky since the start. I look forward to having their expertise and unique perspectives on the Commission Board.”

Dr. Laurel Raimondo Martin is the President of Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass. She was appointed by Treasurer Ball to serve a three-year term. Dr. Hargis serves as the designee from the Kentucky Department of Education which has a statutorily allotted seat on the nine-member KFEC Board.

“Dr. Raimondo Martin and Dr. Hargis are valuable additions to the KFEC Board,” KFEC Executive Director Jennifer Inman said. “Financial empowerment is now more important than ever in Kentucky, and I am excited to have these new members join the important work we are doing.”
