FRANKFORT, KY – For the 24th time, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded its Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA) for the Authority’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). This year’s award recognizes the ACFR for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2022.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“I am proud of this achievement,” said Rebecca Adkins, KPPA Deputy Executive Director. “Twenty-four years of reporting excellence shows the members of our systems and the people of Kentucky that we value transparency.”
The GFOA advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources, and practical research for more than 21,000 members and the communities they serve. KPPA’s annual report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the annual report. As of June 30, 2023, KPPA managed $23.9 billion in pension and insurance assets for hazardous and nonhazardous state and local employees, and the Kentucky State Police.
