FRANKFORT, Ky. (Aug. 28, 2025) – In accordance with a proclamation from the White House, Gov. Andy Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff until sunset on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025, in honor and remembrance of the victims of the acts of violence perpetrated on Aug. 27 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
“American children should be safe and feel safe in their schools, yet our country is mourning the heartbreaking loss of two children – each a child of God – taken too soon by yet another senseless act,” said Gov. Beshear. “Today, Kentucky stands with Minneapolis and all the families affected.”
