Amy Tackett Promoted to Deputy Warden at Southeast State Correctional Complex

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 3, 2023) – Department of Corrections (DOC) Deputy Commissioner Randy White today announced the promotion of Amy Tackett to deputy warden at Southeast State Correctional Complex (SSCC).

“Amy Tackett brings a wealth of experience along with a tremendous work ethic to the table,” said White. “Her leadership will be an asset to the staff and operations of the Southeast State Correctional Complex.”

Tackett began her career in 2005 as a correctional officer for Corrections Corporation of America. She promoted through the security ranks as sergeant, lieutenant and captain. In 2010, she promoted to unit manager. In 2012, Tackett transitioned to a security role with the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Returning to the Department of Corrections as a correctional officer in 2020, Tackett was part of the opening of SSCC. During the following two years, Tackett promoted to offender information specialist, unit administrator I, and then unit administrator II. In August 2022, Tackett was special detailed as deputy warden of programs at the institution.

Tackett is the recipient of a 2007 DOC Achievement Award and a 2022 DOC Hero Award.
