Katie Green Promoted to Eastern Region Branch Manager in Reentry Services Division

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 15, 2021) – Kentucky Department of Corrections Reentry Services Division Director Kristin Porter announced today the promotion of Katie Green to eastern region branch manager.

“It is my pleasure to announce the promotion of Katie Green to eastern region branch manager,” said Porter. “Green is a true asset to the Division of Reentry Services and brings a wealth of knowledge to the position. She has proven her dedication to move the division forward with developing processes promoting success and I can’t wait to see where she continues to take us.”

Green began her career with the Department of Corrections as a probation and parole officer in 2012. During her tenure with the department, she has gained a wealth of experience by supervising a diverse caseload of probationers, parolees, and individuals on home incarceration. Green has served as a field training officer and as a class D officer. She has also completed training in the Effective Practices in Community Supervision (EPICS) model.

In 2018, Green promoted to justice program administrator in the newly formed Division of Reentry Services. As a regional program administrator, she played a crucial role in many new endeavors of the department, as well as supervising reentry staff in various institutions and Probation and Parole districts. While serving in this capacity, Green received recognition from Kentucky State Reformatory as the Support Staff of the Quarter. She also assisted Roederer Correctional Complex in the creation of the state’s first yard Reentry Center, served a Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) member, and was a trainer of the Mental Health First Aid class. Green is certified as a Moral Reconation Therapy facilitator and a PORTAL New Direction facilitator and trainer. She has established many community partnerships while in the Division of Reentry Services that have contributed to the success of our population. 

Green attended Western Kentucky University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in criminology.
