Cedric Coleman Promoted to Systems Engineer IT

Kentucky Department of Corrections Division of Information Services Director Amanda Sayle today announced that Cedric Coleman has been promoted to systems engineer for the Information and Technology Branch. In this position, he will work closely with Kentucky Offender Management System (KOMS) staff in determining cost-effective uses of resources, database systems and storage. Additionally, he will collaborate with outside contractors and identify performance and technical issues. His position is effective today.

“Cedric Coleman has a vast knowledge of the DOC’s systems and daily operations, as well as an eagerness to help staff accomplish their goals,” said Sayle.

Coleman began state employment in September 2002 with the Department of Housing, Building Codes and Construction. He worked there for nine years as a programmer analyst I in Information and Technology. Coleman started his career with the Department of Corrections in 2010 as a programmer analyst III working in the KOMS helpdesk area. As one of the database administrators, his job included responding to diverse types of helpdesk computer-related issues.

Coleman is a member of the Southern States Correctional Association, Correctional Peace Officers Foundation, and Kentucky Council on Crime and Delinquency (KCCD). He previously served as president of the KCCD Capitol Chapter and as a member of the KCCD State Board of Directors.

A 2002 graduate of Kentucky State University, Coleman earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science.
