FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 10, 2026) – Attorney General Russell Coleman announced today a plea agreement including a recommended 25-year prison sentence for a Bell County man charged with the repeated sexual abuse of two young children.
Jerry Jackson, 57, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to Rape 1st Degree, Child Under 12 (Class A Felony), Sodomy 1st Degree, Child Under 12 (Class A Felony) and Sexual Abuse 1st Degree Child Under 12 (Class C Felony).
According to charges filed in Bell Circuit Court, on multiple occasions between April 2020 through March 2023, Jackson raped and sodomized one child and sexually abused another.

“Twenty-five years behind bars can't erase the harm done, but it ensures incapacitation for this dangerous predator and space for the victims to heal,” said Attorney General Coleman.”
The Middlesboro Police Department investigated the case. Assistant Attorney General Barbara Maines Whaley in the Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit prosecuted the case on behalf of the Commonwealth.
Sentencing is scheduled for October 19th.
