Attorney General Secures Indictment Against Man Charged with Abusing Infant Son

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 13, 2026) - Attorney General Russell Coleman announced today that action by the Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit resulted in the indictment of a Maysville man on a felony charge related to the abuse of his infant son.

A Mason County Grand Jury indicted Aaron Alderman, 28, on the charge of Criminal Abuse First Degree Child 12 or Under (Class B Felony).

According to the indictment, in June 2025, Alderman physically abused his four-month-old son and caused serious physical injury to the child.  The infant suffered rib fractures and a fractured tibia.

The Mason County Sheriff Department investigated the case. Executive Director of the Special Prosecutions Division Tim Cocanougher will prosecute the case on behalf of the Commonwealth.

The Kentucky Supreme Court’s rule on trial publicity limits information the Office can provide publicly.

The charges in an indictment are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
