Attorney General Coleman Announces Grant Opportunities to Combat Child Abuse and Neglect

FRANKFORT, Ky (March 6, 2026)- Attorney General Russell Coleman announced today that the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board is offering grant funding opportunities to agencies and organizations across Kentucky to further work to end child abuse and neglect in the Commonwealth.

The Board will accept proposals for educational and public informational programming focused on prevention and for projects promoting the well-being of children and families by addressing concrete needs. Up to $60,000 has been made available, with grant amounts varying based on the type of proposal.

The Board has identified new priorities for prevention project proposals, following a statewide evaluation of ongoing child abuse and neglect prevention efforts. The Board’s next round of grant awards will prioritize prevention project proposals designed to increase organizational capacity to provide concrete supports, such as housing, food assistance, childcare and transportation, to alleviate stress within families and promote the well-being of children and their families.

“Combating child abuse and neglect is our moral responsibility as we prepare the next generation of Kentucky’s leaders,” said Attorney General Coleman, who chairs the Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board. “Education and prevention efforts can change the trajectory of a child’s life and the future of our Commonwealth.”

Applications are being accepted now through March 31, 2026.  Additional information and application materials are available here.  The Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board will review all applications and vote on proposals at their May meeting.
