  • OUTSTANDING KENTUCKY SMALL BUSINESSES TO BE RECOGNIZED

    FRANKFORT, Ky. – Twelve of Kentucky’s small businesses will be honored today as the first inductees in the Pacesetter Business Recognition Program, a new initiative designed to recognize small businesses that have made a significant impact in their community and region. The following businesses will be recognized at a special Kentucky Celebrates Small Business event in Frankfort:
  • CABINET AWARDS NEARLY $100,000 IN PRIZE MONEY TO STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION

    FRANKFORT, Ky. – As part of its inaugural statewide business plan competition, the Cabinet for Economic Development has awarded nearly $100,000 in prize money to state university students who conceived or developed plans for 15 new Kentucky companies.
  • CABINET FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT’S PROCUREMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM TO HOST NATIONAL CONFERENCE

    FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky Procurement Assistance Program (KPAP), a business assistance program of the Cabinet for Economic Development’s Department for Existing Business Development, will serve as host for the upcoming Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (APTAC) Annual Conference. The 23rd Annual Conference will be held on April 7-10, 2008, at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in downtown Lexington.
  • KENTUCKY RANKS 10TH IN NATION FOR NUMBER OF NEW AND EXPANDING INDUSTRY PROJECTS IN 2007

    FRANKFORT, Ky. – The tally for Site Selection magazine’s annual Governor’s Cup ranking is in, placing Kentucky 10th in the nation for new and expanded industry activity in 2007. The ranking is based on a state’s total number of qualified projects as tracked by Conway Data Inc.’s New Plant database. Kentucky has the smallest population of any state ranked in the Top 10.
  • WABASH NATIONAL® CORPORATION TO LOCATE MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN SIMPSON COUNTY

    FRANKFORT, KY – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear and Economic Development Cabinet Secretary John Hindman today announced that Wabash National® Corporation (NYSE; WNC), one of the leading manufacturers of semi trailers in North America, will build a new manufacturing facility in Franklin. The project is expected to result in up to 460 new full-time jobs within two years of project completion.
  • TWO KENTUCKY COMPANIES GRANTED FUNDING FROM CABINET’S HIGH-TECH INVESTMENT POOL

    FRANKFORT, KY – The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) today granted two Kentucky companies a combined total of up to $969,000 from the High-Tech Investment Pool administered by the Cabinet for Economic Development’s Department of Commercialization and Innovation.
  • Kentucky’s University Students to Compete in New Statewide Business Plan Competition

    FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development is conducting a competition to find the best young entrepreneurs in the state. The competition, called "Idea State U", is aimed at students attending Kentucky's public universities, and will provide cash rewards to student teams who develop the best business plans and business concepts based on innovative products and services.
  • THREE COMPANIES GRANTED FUNDING FROM CABINET’S HIGH-TECH INVESTMENT POOL

    FRANKFORT, KY – At a meeting held earlier today, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority granted three Jefferson County companies a combined total of up to $891,000 in funding from the High-Tech Investment Pool administered by the Cabinet for Economic Development.
  • PACIFIC PULMONARY SERVICES TO LOCATE NEW CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER IN LEXINGTON

    FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Steve Beshear and Economic Development Cabinet Secretary John Hindman today announced home respiratory therapy provider Pacific Pulmonary Services will locate a customer care center in Lexington. The company will create over 200 full-time positions, while investing over $1.6 million in central Kentucky.
  • THREE CENTRAL KENTUCKY COMPANIES GRANTED FUNDING FROM CABINET’S HIGH-TECH INVESTMENT POOL

    FRANKFORT, Ky. – At a meeting held earlier today, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) granted three central Kentucky companies a combined total of up to $1,055,000 in funding from the High-Tech Investment Pool administered by the Cabinet for Economic Development.
