Thursday, August 12, 2004 The Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) today issued two orders regarding the rate increases granted to the Louisville Gas & Electric Company (LG&E) and the Kentucky Utilities Company (KU).
The PSC granted the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General’s request that the cases be held in abeyance to allow the attorney general time to file a report on his investigation into the PSC’s handling of the rate cases. The PSC also granted in part the attorney general’s motion for a rehearing on certain technical issues.

The Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) today granted rate increases to the Louisville Gas & Electric Co. (LG&E) and the Kentucky Utilities Co. (KU), although the rate increases were substantially smaller than the amounts originally requested by the companies.

Tuesday, June 29, 2004 The Kentucky Public Service Commmission (PSC) today ordered BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc. to phase out monthly charges assessed to customers who live in the farther reaches of their telephone exchanges.

Wednesday, June 23, 2004 The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has approved, without modification, an earlier settlement agreement by the Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) allowing the Kentucky Power Company to transfer control of its major transmission lines to PJM Interconnection LLC (PJM), a regional transmission organization (RTO).

The Kentucky State Board on Electric Generation and Transmission Siting has received an application requesting a construction certificate for a generating plant in Estill County that would sell electricity on the open, wholesale market. A review completed today determined that the application is complete as submitted on Monday, June 14, 2004.
