DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. -- Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park's Fall Photography Weekend on Oct. 12-14 has gone all digital.

This weekend consists of a photo contest with point and shoot, intermediate, and masters divisions, evening programs, a critique and an awards ceremony. Bring your own camera.

Registration is $30. Register by Oct. 8th and receive a $5 discount.  The evening speakers and judges are Chuck Summers of Middlesboro who was recently voted best mountain photographer by the readers of Blue Ridge Country Magazine and Steve Maslowski of Cincinnati, who specializes in pictures of birds and other wildlife.

Registration begins at 2 p.m. on Friday and evening programs will start at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.  Awards and critique take place at 11 a.m. Sunday. For information, contact Naturalist Rebecca Clark at 1-800-325-1711 or rebeccae.clark@ky.gov

If the lodge and cottages fill up, there are other motels in the area as well as a campground at the park.

Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park has a lodge, cottages, Clifty Creek Restaurant, golf, mini-golf, gift shop, fishing, boating and hiking trails. The resort is 20 miles northwest of Hopkinsville, on KY 109 N. From the Western Kentucky Parkway, exit at Dawson Springs and take KY 109 south.
