Pennyrile Forest Offers Hikes Along Macedonia Trail

DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. – Beginning hikers will have two opportunities this fall to try out a trail at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park near Dawson Springs.

 

Adventure Pennyrile Forest will offer naturalist-guided hikes along the Macedonia Trail on Sept. 15 and Oct. 6. The hike of approximately 4 miles is rated as easy.

 

The registration fee is $10 per person.  Registration fee includes: transportation, a bottle of water, snack, and Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park patch.  Registered participants can get a 10 percent discount off park lodging. 

 

Participants will meet in the lodge lobby at 9:00 a.m. Central Time.  Participants must register at least one week before the hike date.  To register contact Rebecca Clark at 1-800-325-1711 or rebeccae.clark@ky.gov

 

Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park has a lodge, cottages, campground, Clifty Creek Restaurant, golf, mini-golf, gift shop, fishing, boating and hiking trails. The resort is 20 miles northwest of Hopkinsville, on KY 109 N. From the Western Kentucky Parkway, exit at Dawson Springs and take KY 109 south.
