Colonel Bill Williams Greenup Music Festival Set For Aug. 17-19 at Greenbo Lake

GREENUP, Ky. – The Colonel Bill Williams Greenup Music Festival Aug. 17-19 at Greenbo Lake State Resort Park will feature three days of great music.

 

Friday will feature the blues, Saturday will be Bluegrass and country and Sunday will be set aside for gospel music with the Dixie Melody Boys performing. This festival is in honor of Colonel Bill Williams, an African American blues guitarist and musician who lived in Greenup County.

 

All performances will be held at the park’s new amphitheater near the community pool.

 

Others scheduled to perform Sunday include: New Vision Trio, New Time, Radiant Heart, Gospel Tide, John Darin Rowsey and Heaven Bound James Gang. The program will be 1:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

 

Ticket prices for the music festival are $10 for Friday, $15 for Saturday, $10 for Sunday and $25 for the entire weekend. Children 10 and under are free. The three-day tickets can be purchased in advance at the lodge or single day tickets can be bought on the day of the event.
