FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky State Parks is sponsoring the 4th Annual Kentucky State Parks Race Series starting April 12 with the Goose Creek 5K at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park in Louisville.
The race series is made up of five races across Kentucky at state parks. Runners of all ages can take part in all of the races to capture the overall championship based on a point system.
Awards will be given to the overall male and female winner of each race and first and second place winners in each male and female age division. The grand prize winners, who must compete in all five races, will be named at the August 9th Classic 5K at Dale Hollow State Resort Park. All of those who run all five races will receive a certificate and be registered for a special giveaway prize.
To participate in all five races, runners must pay a pre-registration fee of $65 by April 11th. To register for all five races, visit www.parks.ky.gov and click on the 5K Race Series link under featured events. Send the registration to:
