LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 5, 2008) -- The Louisville Astronomical Society is presenting a free public observation on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, weather permitting. This is the last total lunar eclipse visible in this area until December 2010. Also available for public viewing will be Mars, Saturn, double stars, nebulae, galaxies and star clusters.

The events will be held at the society’s Urban Astronomy Center at E.P. “Tom” Sawyer State Park in Louisville’s northeastern suburbs. The public is invited to come from sunset to the conclusion of the eclipse.

The park is located 3000 Freys Hill Road off of Westport Road near the Gene Snyder Expressway. Take the second entrance to the park from Freys Hill Road and go to the end of the road. There will be a sign at the second entrance.
