Easter Weekend Events Planned at Kentucky State Parks

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 18, 2008) – Thousands of eggs will be hidden across Kentucky State Parks next month as the Easter Bunny makes his way across the state.

 

Many state parks will be holding special events during Easter weekend, March 22-23. All 17 resort park restaurants will be serving a special Easter buffet on Sunday, March 23, from noon to 8 p.m. The meal at most parks includes roast beef, country ham, roast leg of spring lamb, golden fried catfish, garden vegetables and more. The price for adults is $15.95, while children age 12 and under are $6.95 (prices include beverage).

Barren River Lake State Resort Park Easter Eggs-travaganza -- 3/22/2008

We will be hopping down the bunny trail towards thousands of candy and toy filled eggs. Don't miss the fun of this annual event. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos. Age groups will be 2 and under, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10. Event begins at 10:00 a.m.

Easter egg hunt will be followed by a magic show presented by Dave Cottrell at 10:30 a.m.1-800-325-0057.

 

Big Bone Lick State Park Easter Egg Hunt -- 3/22/2008

Hop on down to Big Bone for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Our rabbits have hidden thousands of eggs for children ages 1-12 to find. Bring your biggest baskets to collect as many as you can. 859-384-3522.

 

Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park Easter Events -- 3/22/2008 - 3/23/2008

Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 11am in front of the Pioneer Museum on 3/22/08.  Over 4000 Easter eggs filled with candy or toys will be hidden for kids age 12 and under to hunt. There will be 4 different age categories for children: 0-2, 3-5, 6-8 & 9-12. Eggs for each category will be hidden in different locations surrounding the Pioneer Museum. Prizes awarded for finder of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place eggs in each category. Author Leigh Anne Florence, along with Kentucky Wiener Dogs, Woody & Chloe, will be at the Blue Licks Gift Shop on 3/22/08 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. to sign copies of their new book.  Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park will also serve a special Easter buffet on 3/23/08 from noon-8 pm. 859-289-5507 or 800-443-7008.

 

 

Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park Easter Buffet and Egg Hunt -- 3/23/2008

Special buffet with egg hunt on Sunday. Children divided into age groups for the egg hunt. Free for children up through age 12. Prize eggs will be hidden. 800-325-0058.

 

Carter Caves State Resort Park Easter Weekend -- 3/22/2008 - 3/23/2008

We will have family oriented programs throughout the weekend including Easter egg coloring, a nature walk and Saturday evening entertainment. On Easter day we will be serving our Easter buffet and will have our annual egg hunt with over 1,000 eggs for children 12 and under. Tours of Cascade and X-cave will be on a regular schedule. Cumberland Falls State Resort Park Easter Egg Hunt -- 3/23/2008

A 1000-egg hunt for children ages 10 and under will feature special hidden prize eggs. Located behind the community pool. Hunt begins at 2:30 p.m. sharp and gates open at 2 p.m. 606-528-4121.

 

Dale Hollow State Resort Park Easter Egg Hunt -- 3/22/2008

Here comes Peter Cottontail, hoppin’ down the Dale Hollow Trail. Hippity Hoppity your way here and help us find all the eggs that clever bunny has hidden for you in the campground. The age categories will be 2 & under, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-11, with a prize egg in each category. The hunt begins promptly at 10:30 a.m. Central time. In case of rain, the hunt will be rescheduled for Sunday, March 23 at 2 p.m.  800-325-2282.

 

E. P. Tom Sawyer State Park – 3/22/2008

E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park will host the Eggstravaganza on Saturday March 22 for ages 10 and under.  There will be more than 10,000 candy and prized filled eggs!  Event begins at 12:30 pm with a visit from E.P "Bunny" Sawyer: egg hunt for ages 0-2 at 1 pm: ages 3-4 at 1:10 p.m.: ages 5-7 at 1:20 p.m.: and ages 8-10 at 1:30 p.m.  This is a FREE and fun event for the entire family. 502 -429-7270

 

Fort Boonesborough Egg-citing Easter Fest -- 3/20/2008 - 3/23/2008

The Easter Bunny will be joining us for a weekend of fun. We will have scheduled times for free putt-putt, bingo, free historic tours, a camper decoration contest, Easter crafts, an Easter egg hunt, a free continental breakfast and, of course, the kids will want their pictures taken with the Easter Bunny. General Butler State Resort Park Easter Sunday Brunch @ General Butler Conference Center -- 3/23/2008

Greenbo Lake State Resort Park Easter Egg Hunt -- 3/23/2008

Easter egg hunt for boys and girls 12 years old and under. Over 1,000 Easter eggs hidden. Hunt starts at 1:30 p.m. on Easter Sunday in the park's amphitheater. Three lucky eggs that are worth an Easter Basket will be hidden. Special appearance by the Easter Bunny. 800-325-0083.

 

Jenny Wiley State Resort Park Easter Egg Hunt -- 3/22/2008

Hop on over to Lake Cumberland State Resort Park for our Annual Easter Egg-stravaganza Hunt. We will be hunting over 3,000 eggs! Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park Easter Egg-Citement in the Park -- 3/22/2008

Activities are planned for the whole family to enjoy during Easter Egg-citement in the Park. A scavenger hunt loaded with prizes for adults, teens and children is always a hunting experience. Old Fort Harrod State Park Easter Egg Hunt - Harrodsburg Kiwanis Club -- 3/22/2008

The Harrodsburg Kiwanis Club will host a community Easter Egg Hunt at the fort. This event includes pictures with the Easter Bunny, discounted rates to Old Fort Harrod for only $1, and a lot of treats and games. The fun begins at noon on the front lawn by the Osage Orange Tree. Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park Easter Eggcitement -- 3/23/2008

Make Easter Eggciting at Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park! Easter buffet available at Clifty Creek Restaurant from Noon to 8 pm. Pictures with the Easter Bunny ($1 per photo), and FREE egg hunt. The free egg hunt is divided into four age categories: 3 and under, 4 to 6, 7 to 9, and 10 to 12. Hundreds of eggs will be hidden specifically for each age group. Rough River State Resort Park Easter Eggstravaganza -- 3/22/2008

Eggsactly what you are looking for in an Easter Egg Hunt! At Rough River we have 6 to 8 acres of hunting space and thousands of eggs filled with candy and other surprises.
