Wednesday, January 23, 2008 Gov. Steve Beshear today named LaDonna Thompson as Kentucky’s Corrections Commissioner, marking the first time a woman has been tapped to head the state’s Department of Corrections.
- Governor Beshear Appoints Executive Director of the Kentucky Commission on Women
Tuesday, January 15, 2008 Gov. Steve Beshear today announced the appointment of Eleanor Jordan as Executive Director of the Kentucky Commission on Women. She is the first African-American to be appointed to this post since the commission’s initial creation in 1964.
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Celebration
Tuesday, January 15, 2008 The Martin Luther King, Jr. State Commission will present its annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. State Celebration on January 15, 2008 at the Kentucky Historical Society in Frankfort at 4 p.m. The theme of the event is “The Dream . . . Remembering the Past, Shaping the Future.”
- Personnel Cabinet Launches New CAREER OPPORTUNITIES System
Wednesday, November 28, 2007 The Personnel Cabinet launched a new on-line employment system today. The new Career Opportunities System (COS) has many features which make searching and applying for state jobs much easier. The Personnel Cabinet partnered with CGI and Kenexa to provide this service to the Commonwealth.
