FRANKFORT, Ky.—The Kentucky Arts Council is offering workshops to arts and cultural organizations and educators that are interested in applying for grant funding from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The free workshops, Applying for Grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, will guide potential grantees through the grant process and give helpful writing and organizational tips towards completing applications.
There are three NEA grant programs being reviewed. The Access to Artistic Excellence grant supports arts experiences in underserved communities (usually rural areas, small communities or inner-city neighborhoods). The Challenge America Fast Track grants are for community-based projects like murals, festivals, exhibits, etc. Learning in the Arts grants are targeted to school districts and arts organizations to enhance arts education opportunities according to state and national standards.
Applying for Grants from the National Endowment for the Arts workshops are being offered in Covington (April 14), Princeton (April 16), Murray (May 13), and Henderson (May 14). For more detailed information, times, locations and registration, contact Kentucky Arts Council Regional Outreach Director Joanna Hay at 1-888-833-2787 or Joanna.Hay@ky.gov , or go to the Kentucky Arts Council’s Web site at http://artscouncil.ky.gov/wkshops.htm.
