FRANKFORT, KY – Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed Donald A. Colston to serve as a member of the Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Nominating Commission.

Colston is an electric utility lineman for Louisville Gas & Electric. He has previously worked as executive director of administrative services in the Kentucky Department of Workers’ Claims. He is currently a member of the Greater Louisville Central Labor Council. Colston and his wife, Julie, reside in Frankfort.

The appointment replaces Cathy M. Jackson, who has resigned. Colston shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Dec. 4, 2009.

The Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Nominating Commission shall consist of seven members appointed by the governor. Subject to the consent of the Senate, the governor shall appoint the administrative law judges and the executive director of the Office of Workers’ Claims by choosing from names presented to him by the Workers’ Compensation Nominating Commission.
