Governor Beshear Appoints Member to Kentucky Environmental Education Council

FRANKFORT, KY – Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed Tom FitzGerald to serve as a member of the Kentucky Environmental Education Council. He represents environmental interests.

FitzGerald is the director of the Kentucky Resources Council, Inc. He also is an adjunct professor of Energy and Environmental Law at the University of Louisville Law School. FitzGerald received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky College of Law. He and his wife, Patricia, reside in Louisville.

The appointment replaces Kurt D. Mason, who has resigned. FitzGerald shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Oct. 5, 2010.

The Kentucky Environmental Education Council is composed of nine gubernatorial appointees. The council is charged with improving Kentuckians’ understanding of their environment.
