FRANKFORT, KY – Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has reappointed Barbara Kay Jefferson to serve as a member of the Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology.

Jefferson is director of clinical services at Comprehend, Inc. in Maysville. She received her doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Kentucky. Jefferson and her husband, Jerry, reside in Dover.

Jefferson represents licensed psychologist. The appointment shall serve for a term expiring Dec. 1, 2011.

The Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology administers and enforces the statutory authority and monitors the needs of the consuming public. The board examines and licenses all eligible candidates for entry into the profession of psychology. It recommends appropriate changes in the law to assure fairness and equality.
