Governor Beshear Appoints Member to Kentucky Airport Zoning Commission
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed James D. Woodward as a member of the Kentucky Airport Zoning Commission.
Woodward, of Louisville, is an experienced pilot and former owner of J.W. Aviation LLC. He is a member of the national Experimental Aircraft Association and past president of Louisville’s local chapter. Woodward retired as a tenured professor from the University of Louisville’s Department of Prosthodontics. He continues to work part-time at the dental school as a dental educator.
The appointment replaces John R. Triplett, who has resigned. Woodward shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Aug. 8, 2008.
The Kentucky Airport Zoning Commission consists of six gubernatorial appointees. The commission is empowered to issue the orders, rules and regulations pertaining to the protection and the encouragement of the use of land within and around airports and their facilities.
