FRANKFORT, KY – Gov. Steve Beshear has appointed Dwight T. Lovan as Executive Director of the Office of Workers’ Claims.

Lovan, 57, previously worked as an attorney for Jones, Walters, Turner & Shelton in Owensboro.

He earned his law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law. He and his wife, Beverly Ann, reside in Philpot.

Active in the community, Lovan is a member of the Daviess County Public Schools Foundation Board, Kentucky Workers’ Compensation Education Association Board, Kids Chance of Kentucky Board of Directors, Kentucky Bar Association and the Daviess County Bar Association.

The Office of Workers' Claims shall be administered by an executive director appointed by the governor. The governor selects the executive director from a list of three names submitted by the Workers' Compensation Nominating Commission. The executive director appointed by the governor shall be subject to the consent of the Senate in accordance with KRS 11.160.
