The grants will fund a variety of improvements to downtowns across Kentucky, including façade repairs, property renovations and streetscape repairs and improvements.

The Spirit of Kentucky Award is given to an organization that demonstrates the effective coordination of government resources for multiple government entities. The award was given for the Bluegrass Emergency Response Team (BERT) project.

The funding will be used for improvements at the intersection of Coleman Road and U.S. 60/Hinkleville Road near Interstate 24.

The funding will be used to renovate the Knox County Help, Inc. Senior Citizens Center, improve water infrastructure and construct the West Knox Courthouse Annex.

CDBG funds will be used for the Somerset Scattered Site Phase III Project and State Flood Control Funds will be used for the city of Burnside’s Sewage Transfer Pump Station and Wastewater Collection System constructed with the assistance of the Army Corps of Engineers.
