- Governor Approves $1,231,844 in Recreational Trails Grants
Wednesday, May 14, 2008 FRANKFORT, KY (May 14, 2008) – Gov. Steve Beshear, in conjunction with the Governor’s Office for Local Development (GOLD) and the Recreational Trails Advisory Board, has announced the approval of 25 Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grants for a total allocation of $1,231,844.

Tuesday, May 13, 2008 FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 13,2008) — The Governor’s Office for Local Development (GOLD) is now accepting online nominations for the fifth annual Commissioner’s Spirit of Kentucky award. The award is presented to the sponsor(s) of a public project that best demonstrates an innovative expression of multi-jurisdictional cooperation and cost effective use of resources.
- Governor Awards Manchester Grant for Water Treatment Plant
Monday, May 12, 2008 FRANKFORT, KY (May 9, 2008) – Gov. Steve Beshear presented the City of Manchester with a ceremonial check today commemorating the award of a $1,000,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The funds will be used towards the design and construction of a new water treatment plant to serve all of Clay County.

Friday, May 09, 2008 FRANKFORT, KY (May 7, 2008) – Gov. Steve Beshear, in conjunction with the Governor’s Office for Local Development (GOLD), has announced his recommendation for the approval of a $400,000 Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) grant which, along with allocated state funds, will assist in the construction of a permanent interactive exhibit for the East Kentucky Science Center (EKSC) in Prestonsburg.

Funds would be used to assist the Menifee County Board of Health to construct a new Health Department.

Steve Beshear, in conjunction with the Governor’s Office for Local Development (GOLD), today announced his recommendation for the approval of a $500,000 Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) grant. Funds would be used to assist Bell County Industrial Foundation and Bell County Fiscal Court in acquiring a high-tech telecommunications industry for the Bell County Technology Park.

- GOVERNOR FLETCHER APPROVES EO-298 FUNDING
Wednesday, December 05, 2007 Governor Ernie Fletcher today announced a $3 million grant to the City of Burnside to fund construction costs of a cooling tower at the East Kentucky Power Cooperative Cooper Station power plant. The funding, provided through Executive Order 2007-298, comes as a response to needs caused by the lowering of Lake Cumberland for repairs to Wolf Creek Dam.
- GOVERNOR FLETCHER ANNOUNCES $1 MILLION GRANT TO CITY OF CLINTON FOR SEWER UPGRADES
Wednesday, December 05, 2007 Governor Ernie Fletcher today announced a $ 1 million Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to the City of Clinton for rehabilitation of approximately seven miles of sewer line and cleaning of approximately 1.5 miles of sewer line.
- GOVERNOR FLETCHER ANNOUNCES $1 MILLION GRANT TO BREATHITT COUNTY FOR WATERLINE EXTENSIONS
Tuesday, November 20, 2007 Governor Ernie Fletcher today announced a $1 million Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to the Breathitt County Fiscal Court for construction of 12 miles of waterline, two water storage tanks and a booster pump station to serve the Watts area of the county.
