Wednesday, October 22, 2008 Frankfort, Ky. (October 21, 2008) – Kentucky Department of Corrections Director of Probation & Parole Lelia “Lee” VanHoose today announced that Cassandra “Sandy” Davis has been promoted to District 18 Supervisor. This is the southwest office of Jefferson County.
- Holloway Promoted to Deputy Warden at West Liberty Prison
Wednesday, October 15, 2008 Frankfort, Ky. (October 13, 2008) – Kentucky Department of Corrections Deputy Commissioner Al Parke today announced the promotion of John Holloway to Deputy Warden of the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex (EKCC) in West Liberty.
- Prestigiacomo Promoted to Deputy Warden at Frankfort Prison
Wednesday, October 15, 2008 Frankfort, Ky. (October 13, 2008) – Kentucky Department of Corrections Deputy Commissioner Al Parke today announced the promotion of Gary Prestigiacomo to Deputy Warden of Frankfort Career Development Center.
- Hayden Promoted to Branch Manager over HIP/Re-Entry
Monday, October 06, 2008 Frankfort, Ky. (October 6, 2008) – Kentucky Department of Corrections Deputy Commissioner Kimberly Potter-Blair today announced that Wendy Hayden has been promoted to a Branch Manager in Central Office. Hayden will oversee the Department’s Home Incarceration Program (HIP) and Re-Entry efforts.
- Prison Receives Near Perfect Score in National Re-Accreditation Audit
Monday, October 06, 2008 Frankfort, Ky. (October 6, 2008) – Northpoint Training Center in Boyle County received a near perfect score during its re-accreditation process this week with the American Correctional Association (ACA). The prison received a total score of 99.8 percent on their audit.
- Three Corrections Professionals Named to New Positions in Realignment of DOC’s Division of Mental Health
Thursday, September 25, 2008 Frankfort, Ky. (September 24, 2008) – Kentucky Department of Corrections Deputy Commissioner Al Parke today announced a realignment of the agency’s Division of Mental Health and Substance Abuse that will move three employees into key positions of leadership. Dr. Elizabeth McKune, Dr. James Van Nort and Karyn Hascal have been selected to serve as Assistant Directors of the Division.

Friday, September 05, 2008 Frankfort, Ky. (Sept. 5, 2008) - The Kentucky Department of Corrections honored Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Bill Cunningham with the agency’s top award Wednesday, the 2008 Lucille Hurt Robuck “Commitment to Corrections” Award.
Tom Simpson named Warden of the Year; Warren Lambert takes Probation & Parole Supervisor of the Year honor

Monday, July 28, 2008 Frankfort, Ky. (July 25, 2008) – Blackburn Correctional Complex (BCC) and Frankfort Career and Development Center (FCDC) received perfect scores during their re-accreditation process this week with the American Correctional Association (ACA). Both prisons received a score of 100% on non-mandatory and mandatory standards.
- Robert Howerton Promoted to Warden at Blackburn Correctional Complex
Monday, July 07, 2008 Frankfort, Ky. (July 3, 2008) – Kentucky Department of Corrections Deputy Commissioner Al Parke today announced the promotion of Robert Howerton to warden of Blackburn Correctional Complex in Lexington. He begins his new job on July 16.
- Larry Chandler to Retire as Warden of KSR; J. David Donahue Will Return to Kentucky
Tuesday, June 24, 2008 Frankfort, Ky. (June 24, 2008) – Larry Chandler’s name has become synonymous with Kentucky Corrections. Twenty-six years ago he walked through the doors of the Kentucky State Reformatory and went to work as a correctional officer. At the end of August when he retires as warden of KSR, he will walk out those same doors leaving his mark on not only that prison, but the entire state correctional system.
